"And what is a man that he should not run with his brothers?" said Mowgli. "I was born in the jungle; I have obeyed the Law of the Jungle; and there is no wolf of ours from whose paws I have not pulled a thorn. Surely they are my brothers!"

– Rudyard Kipling, The Jungle Book

Done for a little blog contest between myself and my coworkers. This month's challenge was to convey a classic story, fable, or fairy tale in a style of our choosing.

Background stolen from myself. |3

FREEEEEE!!!!

Yeah, I kinda always thought that in the Disney version just where the heck he got the diapers, much less the Moe haircut,or even making him look Caucasian in some versions. Other than that, this one looks pretty good & has a visual sense of Innocence to it. 8-)

Why do people keep asking for the truth, yet they just piss and moan when it's given to them?

IS THAT A KOSUTH I SPY? :3 Is the black one another one of your old charries? I wasn't around to see much of those, so I dunno what they'd look like.

The other one is just a poor loner. I got lazy and didn't feel like drawing more markings. |P

Brill drawing! Well done. Although, just wondering why Mowgli is not Indian looking? Other that that it's good.

Thanks! I kind of struggled with the Indian thing, actually. Mostly, I wanted to get away from the visual that Disney has created, but I probably should have pushed it to the other side of the spectrum, and made him simply look more wild than Disney's Mowgli.

Well the book was set in India so it would be a little odd that he would be Wight. Still good drawing though.
