Artist's Comments

This is for the art department's monthly blog contest at work. The theme was imaginary friend/monster. I never had an imaginary friend when I was a kid, so I made one up.

Made to look like cut-out paper. It was my intention for quite a while actually, to track down some cool paper and cut this all out by hand, but I got lazy and just photoshopped it all in the end. That, and I'm broke until Friday. Boo me.

This is Fredrick. He's a horrible creature that's always in a foul mood. His breath smells of rancid dishwater and his fur is matted and tangled and wirey like steel wool. He prefers not to speak–communicating only in apathetic grunts–as verbal communication is a sign of familiarity and a basic approval of all things human, which he loathes more than love itself.

Yet everywhere he goes, cheerful songbirds are drawn to perch lightly on his downturned horns, flowers sprout in his wake, and the very bogs he secludes himself to dry up and flourish with springtime splendor.

Poor Fredrick. <3

Trying to get to bed before 2am. It's sooo haarrrrrd. xc I failed especially hard last night. So of course I'll take a nap when I get home and I won't be tired until much too late. I cannot resist the temptation!

I'm alright,
going job hunting, people are hireing but it's only Mangers and stuff >A<;
But aside from that good, saving on Subeta, since in October I'm making it Tarint month and just buying a load of art on subeta xP
yet i'm tempted to buy stuff and paint the pets xP
now i must avoid temptation to TT3TT
